The US has concentrated its policy efforts on fuelling the supply (investors) of capital more than demand for it from entrepreneurs.

While the US government’s support for VC is regarded relatively poorly by the industry itself, according to the latest Deloitte survey, businesses are more optimistic about the country’s innovation potential. Conglomerate General Electric (GE) in its 2014 Global Innovation Barometer found 88% of 3,209 respondents said the US had developed a “framework conducive to innovation”.…
