The contribution will help support a total project investment of $26m.

VueReal, a Canadian developer of micro- and nano-devices, has this week announced funding worth $8.5m from Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC), a foundation set up by the Canadian government to promote clean technology.

The investment is part of a total commitment worth $26m from a range of contributors including Angstrom, an engineering company based in Canada, and an unnamed Asia electronics manufacturer.

VueReal said it would use the funding to launch its pioneering Advanced Nano-Technology Center.
