Vision Plus has its eye on Liu Yiran

Liu Yiran has joined venture capital firm Vision Plus Capital, having previously been a director at Temasek.

Liu Yiran (pictured), director at Singapore state-owned investment firm Temasek, has joined venture capital firm Vision Plus Capital, China Money Network reported yesterday.

He will focus on investments in the internet and emerging technology sectors. Vision Plus Capital has a total of RMB2bn ($290m) under management, split across US dollar and renminbi denominated funds.

Liu Yiran joined Temasek in 2009 as an associate director, before being promoted to director in 2015. He had previously been a senior analyst at private equity firm 3iGroup for a few months in late 2008 and at financial services firm Merrill Lynch from 2006 to 2008.

During his time with Temasek, he was involved in the firm investing in ride-sharing app developer Didi Chuxing, smartphone producer Xiaomi and peer-review platform Dianping.

Vision Plus Capital additionally also hired Terry Tian, a former vice-president at VC fund GGV Capital, to lead health technology and consumer investments.
