Thailand sets up blockchain-based crowdfunding service

The government is working with the private sector to drive funding for entrepreneurs and SMEs.

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has announced a new funding service called the Launchpad and Investment Vehicle for Enterprises (LIVE), which is a crowdfunding platform that uses blockchain technology to drive funding to startups and other small and medium-size enterprises, the website BTC Manager has reported.

According to the SET, eight businesses have already joined the platform with many more set to follow. A spokesman said that LIVE was also backed by private and public-sector sources.
