Sotera closes Ohio-backed $1m seed round

The medical device company will use the funding for research and development.

Sotera Medical, a Cleveland-based business which makes medical devices for use in cardiac procedures, has this month raised $1m in a seed funding round backed by a syndicate of investors that included the state of Ohio.

Also participating in the round were JumpStart Inc, an Ohio-based accelerator, North Coast Angel Fund and Northwest Ohio Tech Fun II, which is managed by ProMedica Innovations, a local healthcare organisation.
