Matt Robinson has left his role at Big Society Capital to become investment director at the UK government's CDC Group.
CDC Group, a development finance institution owned by the UK government, has appointed Matt Robinson as investment director.
CDC supports companies in Africa and South Asia that have a focus on job creation. The institution invests in businesses at all stages.
Robinson began this role in April 2016. He comes to the CDC Group from his role as head of strategy and market development at Big Society Capital.
Big Society Capital is an investment firm with the aim of increasing social investment in the UK. Robinson joined the firm when it was created in 2012 with £600m ($870m) of commitments from four UK banks and dormant bank accounts.
Before this he had two roles in the UK Government – from 2010 to 2012 he was the head of social investment and deputy director of the cabinet office, and from 2007 to 2012 he was deputy director of the Prime Minister's strategy unit.
