Business Development Bank of Canada's Nicolas Gravel talks about incubators and accelerators at the 2015 Advanced Materials Commercialisation Summit held in Vancouver.
Pangaea Ventures, a Canada-based private equity firm, recently held the 2015 Advanced Materials Commercialisation Summit that welcomed business leaders including Nicolas Gravel, a director at the Business Development Bank of Canada.
The event featured panels and discussions on a variety of topics, including strategies to accelerate materials innovation, the use of incubators and accelerators to reduce commercialisation timeframes and the partnering of large and small companies.
Gravel took part in the discussion about incubators and accelerators and the need for them to decrease the time taken for a company to reach commercialisation. He was in discussion with Wendolyn Holland from renewable energy commercialisation consultancy Holland Consulting, Kurt Gielen from startup accelerator StartupBootcamp and Raphael Stargrove from 3D printing platform Autodesk.
Meanwhile, a panel on accelerating materials innovation included speakers from the Netherlands, Canada and the US.
The summit was held at the Vancouver Convention Centre on 21 October 2015.
