Denham to be BDC president

He currently serves as president of AquaTerra, and previously was president and senior managing director of Accenture.

Michael Denham will become president of the state-owned Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) from 10 August, replacing acting president Paul Buron.

He currently serves as president of AquaTerra, and previously was president and senior managing director of Accenture.

Separately, Halifax, Canada-based Spring Loaded Technology, which makes a bionic knee-brace technology, has won the 2015 BDC Young Entrepreneur Award, which provides a C$100,000 grand prize to Canadian entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 35.

Spring Loaded co-founders Chris Cowper-Smith and Bob Garrishwon set up the company after a seed round from state-owned Innovacorp and angel investors in 2014.

The contest runner-up was Real Food Market's Melissa Butler.
