Deal net: 6 – 10 March 2017

The Global Government Venturing deal net rounds up all the latest smaller deals and tracks emerging companies accessing government funds.

Plum.io, a Canada-based software-as-a-service to quantify company culture, increase employee engagement and predict successful hires, has received the final tranche of a C$400,000 ($300,000) investment from BDC Capital, the investment arm of Business Development Bank of Canada. The C$250,000 tranche followed a first commitment in November 2016.

BDC Capital also participated in a C$4m seed round for Dialogue, a Canada-based virtual health and wellness platform for employers. The round was led by Diagram and also included Hacking Health Accelerator and assorted angel investors. Dialogue, which is currently available in Quebec and Ontario, is planning an expansion across all Canadian provinces.
