Alquraini crosses Skybridge to London

Hesham Alquraini, formerly a vice-president of Kuwait Investment Authority, will lead investment firm Skybridge Capital's London office.

Hesham Alquraini (pictured), a former vice-president of the Kuwait government's investment unit Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA), will head alternative investment firm Skybridge Capital's London office.

The office will be in charge of Skybridge's activities in the UK, the remainder of Europe and the Middle East.

Alquraini worked as an investment manager at KIA from 1995 to 2000 in Kuwait, before stepping up to become vice-president of KIA's London-based outlet Kuwait Investment Office (KIO), where he remained until 2012.

At KIO, he was responsible for managing all assets, ranging from private equity and hedge funds to direct investments across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America.

He then set up investment firm QWin Capital in 2012 and remained a founding partner until 2014.

Alquraini joined Skybridge as a consultant in September 2015 before becoming a managing director in April 2016.

Skybridge has about $12.6bn under management. The firm is headquartered in New York and also operates offices in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Seoul, South Korea.

Hesham Alquraini said: "This is a very dynamic time for one of the most important regions in global finance. I am looking forward to working with the entire Skybridge team to help our clients achieve their investment goals."
